These Regulations, made under section 4 (1) of the Land Husbandry Act by the Minister of Agriculture and Marketing, provides for the protection of agricultural land. They provide, among other things, for setting aside of areas for the propagation of grass, reedbeds, tree planting or rotational grazing ("leboella"), restriction of grazing by local chiefs, rights of access to grazing areas, organization of rotational grazing, regulation of total number of stock in the country, control of parasites in small stock, prohibition of grass burning and (re)establishment of grass on land unsuitable for cultivation. Supervision of grazing shall be under the direction of the Agricultural Officer.
