This Act provides for prospecting and development of areas that are considered and classified as underdeveloped. The Minister has the power to make agreements with companies or persons providing for the prospecting of underdeveloped areas and for planning and implementing their development. The Act contains provisions on payments to owners and on the solution of disputes arising from the implementation of the Act.

This Act concerns the management of various types of lands in Newfoundland and Labrador. Part I is dedicated to crown lands, Part II to abandoned lands, Part III covers the administration and control of public lands, Part IV provides for special management areas and Part V covers survey markers.

Historic Resources Act (R.S.N.L. 1990, c. H-4).

This Act provides for the preservation of historic resources in the province. For the purpose of the administration of the Act, the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador is confirmed as being and continuing as a corporation and the Act defines its functions and powers.
