Location
The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC; French: Conseil économique et social des Nations unies, CESNU) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, responsible for coordinating the economic and social fields of the organisation, specifically in regards to the 15 specialised agencies, the eight functional commissions and the five regional commissions under its jurisdiction.
The Council serves as the central forum for discussing international economic and social issues and formulating policy recommendations addressed to member states and the United Nations system. A number of non-governmental organisations have been granted consultative status to the Council to participate in the work of the United Nations.

The survey- of Economic Conditions in Africa 1/ reveals that in 1966 -agriculture supported- three-quarters of the- population- contributed 36 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product and accounted for at least 60 per cent of the total export earnings received by the developing African countries.

Le document E/CN.14/445 contenait un rapport sur les travaux de la division pendant la période du 1er mars 1968 au 2 février 1969. Le présent rapport couvre la période du 2 février au 30 avril 1969 et se réfère an particulier au programme de travail de la Division pour 1969-1970 avec projections jusqu'à 1973, et à la résolution 201 (IX) adoptée à la neuvième session de la Commission. Il indique également ce que la Division espère réaliser d’ici à la fin de 1969.

The ECA/FAO Joint Agriculture Division has been requested to collaborate with the Industry and Housing Division in the preparation of a study on "industrialization and Economic Co-operation for the North African sub-region” by providing the relevant part of the study concerning "The Agricultural Sector, 1963-1980".

Les perspectives d'accroissement de la production sont favorables. Une fraction notable de la production mondiale de béryl revient à l'Ouganda, qui pourrait devenir un producteur important de pyrochlore.
