The vision of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is to be the most inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together in a coordinated way to ensure food security and nutrition for all.
CFS is made up of Members, Participants and Observers. The membership of the Committee is open to all Member States of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) or The World Food Programme (WFP) and non-Member States of FAO that are Member States of the United Nations.
The Plenary session is held annually and is the central body for decision-taking, debate, coordination, lesson-learning and convergence by all stakeholders at a global level on food security issues.
The Plenary session in 2017 will take place from 9-13 October 2017 in Rome, Italy at the offices of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The meeting will be in English with simultaneous interpretation into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish.
