Creating learning and action space in South Africa’s post-apartheid land redistribution program

This paper uses the case of South Africa’s latest land redistribution strategy known as the Proactive Land Acquisition Strategy, to explore whether, and how, research can have direct and positive impacts on beneficiaries of land reform. The study is situated within the practice of action research: to explore how it can generate knowledge that can be shared back and forth between stakeholders, as well as how it may ignite changes that the participants desire. The findings are that Proactive Land Acquisition Strategy is not meeting the overall goals land reform.

Nunavik Inuit Land Claims Agreement.

The present Agreement signed by the Government of Canada, the Makivik Corporation (representing the Nunavik Inuit) and the Government of Nunavut settles unresolved issues stemming from the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. A unique feature of this Agreement is its transboundary nature. While the Nunavik Inuit communities are in northern Quebec, the claims are in Nunavut as well as in Newfoundland and Labrador.The Nunavik Inuit Settlement Area is comprised of two areas: the Nunavik Marine Region, and the Labrador portion of the Nunavik Settlement Area.

The Constitution of the Republic of Tanzania was ratified in 1977. Since 1977, several amendments have been applied to the original Constitution. Many of these are related to the relationship between the united government and the Zanzibar government. This Constitution shall apply to Mainland Tanzania as well as Tanzania Zanzibar.

The purpose of this Act is to establish mechanisms to support a sustained long-term reduction of poverty in Ontario, above all of poverty of children. Section 3 establishes that not all groups of people share the same level of risk of poverty.
