PUTTING THE VOLUNTARY GUIDELINES ON TENURE INTO PRACTICE: A LEARNING GUIDE FOR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS
This learning guide has been designed specifically to give civil society and grassroots organizations a deeper understanding of the Voluntary guidelines on the responsible governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forests in the context of national food security (VGGT) to enable the members of these organizations and their constituents to use the VGGT meaningfully and effectively to improve the governance of tenure in their respective countries.
VGGT: Pilot project on the implementation of the OECD-FAO Guidance for Responsible Agricultural Supply Chains
To support the practical application of the OECD-FAO Guidance, in early 2018 the OECD and FAO launched an implementation pilot with over thirty companies and industry initiatives. The first stage of the pilot was a baseline survey to assess how companies and industry initiatives are implementing the OECD-FAO Guidance and other related international standards. This report presents the findings of the baseline assessment.

Developing gender‐equitable legal frameworks for land tenure
This paper introduces a Legal Assessment Tool (LAT) for gender‐equitable land tenure that was developed by the Gender and Land Rights Database (GLRD) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for the purpose of providing prompt, targeted and effective policy and regulatory advice to countries working towards gender‐equitable land tenure. The LAT aims to provide a contribution to the global efforts to achieve responsible governance of land tenure by focusing on the legal issues surrounding land policy and reform processes.
VGGT: Assessment Toolkit Assessing gender-sensitive implementation and country-level monitoring of the Tenure Governance and Africa Land Policy Guidelines.
The Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) are an international framework based on human rights obligations and standards for the governance of tenure of land, fisheries and forests. Adopted in 2012 by Committee on World Food Security (CFS) member countries, and following an inclusive negotiation process, they recognise the importance of land to a country’s development, and that good land governance and broad access to land enable food security for all people.1
Understanding Land Corruption as a Basis for Prevention
From forced eviction to loss of livelihood, social status, savings and even life, land corruption in Africa has serious and far-reaching consequences. Such corruption comes in many forms, and it must be understood – along with the factors that enable it – before it can be tackled.
Upholding Land Rights amidst the Land Rush
This publication discusses the relevance to land and agriculture of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP BHR), and provides an overview of the state of the UNGP BHR’s implementation in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and the Philippines. While significant efforts were undertaken by human rights institutions and CSOs to promote UNGP BHR, this book outlines areas of action at country and regional levels to mainstream UNGP BHR.
