La acción de la FAO en Argentina se inició en 1953 y se ha mantenido sin interrupciones hasta el presente. Con más de 125 proyectos de cooperación técnica efectivamente ejecutados, la FAO en Argentina ha contribuido a intensificar las actividades de capacitación, el desarrollo institucional, la inocuidad de los alimentos, la sanidad vegetal y animal, la aceleración de los mecanismos de coordinación institucional, la difusión de buenas prácticas y la adecuación de normas y marcos regulatorios.

This country profile describes the state of the water resources and water use, as well as the state of agricultural water management in Santa Lucia. The aim of this report is to describe the particularities of the country and the problems met in the development of the water resources, and irrigation in particular. Irrigation trends, existing policies and legislation to water use in agriculture, possible treaties and agreements between countries as well as prospects for water management in agriculture are presented, as described in literature.

Cooperation between the Republic of Djibouti and FAO has continuously increased since the representation was opened in 2008. FAO assistance has covered numerous areas such as access to water, food production and systems in the agricultural, livestock and fisheries sectors. Le mode de gestion permettant aux communautés locales de disposer des droits suffisants sur les ressources forestières pour les gérer durablement, en toute autonomie, n’est pas encore assez répandu en Afrique centrale. Il était donc opportun de rechercher le meilleur moyen de permettre à un tel mode de gestion d’exprimer son plein potentiel.

Haiti enjoys a dynamic partnership with FAO, which has been present in the country since 1978. FAO interventions have focused on food security and nutrition through support to the formulation of agricultural policies and the implementation of development programmes. In recent years, cooperation has centred on emergency agricultural assistance, although there is now a definite return to development programmes. The emphasis is on agricultural value chains, watershed management and development, and resilience building in the face of climate change.

Пособие основано на политике ФАО в отношении коренных народов и народов, ведущих племенной образ жизни (2010 г.), для которой одним из основных принципов является данное согласие.

Como más de dos tercios del agua que se toma de los ríos, lagos y acuíferos de la tierra se destinan al riego, la agricultura se considera una válvula de seguridad del sistema. El capítulo especial de este año sobre política hídrica y agricultura analiza las repercusiones en las políticas de una mayor competencia, los conflictos, la escasez, el desperdicio, e l exceso de explotación y la degradación de los recursos hídricos.
