A quarterly news bulletin dedicated to the exchange of information relating to wildlife and national resources management for the Asia-Pacific region.
The main objectives of the present assessment were: (i) to provide reliable and globally consistent information on the state of the tropical forests by 1990 and the rates of change during 1981 to 1990 and (ii) to undertake studies on the process of deforestation and forest degradation and their environmental implications.
This Country Programming Framework (CPF) sets out three country priority areas to guide FAO partnership with and support to the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) – promoting innovative international best practices and global standards through the provision of national, regional and international expertise during three years from 2016 to 2018.
En ouvrant la 8e session du Comit FAO de la mise en valeur des forts dans les tropiques, qui a sig Rome au milieu de septembre 1987 (voir Le monde forestier), M. D.J. Walton, Directeur gnral adjoint de la FAO, a tabli un parallle entre la situation de la foresterie aujourd'hui et celle de l'agriculture pendant les annes 70. C'est seulement lorsque les responsables extrieurs au secteur agricole se sont rendu compte du cot social et conomique de l'abandon de ce secteur que les choses ont commenc changer.

A medium-size report that deals with the overall situation of data on fuelwood in the Central African Republic. The report is composed of three main parts; the first section is a short description of the country and the terms of the study. The second part is an evaluation of the country's forest cover while the third part states the forest parameters (number of trees, volume, etc.) followed by a conclusion.
An introduction to the main wood products of the country and the long term objectives and goals of the forestry sector. Forest policies, protected areas, timber markets and the future development of forestry are discussed.
These proceedings reflect the broad range of disciplines, institutions and geographical regions represented at the workshop. The proceedings will hopefully provide insight for governments, NGOs, the private sector, local organisations and other actors on how to manage and participate in pluralistic forestry systems in order to further the goals of sustainable forestry for development.
Cette troisième réunion du groupe de travail Biodiversité, Habitat et Qualité de l’Eau a été ouverte conjointement par M. Birane Sambe, coordinateur régional du projet CCLME et M. Abou Bamba, secrétaire de la Convention d’Abidjan. M. Sambe a remercié l’ensemble des participants d’avoir effectué le déplacement. Selon lui, l’épidémie d’Ebola a causé beaucoup de perturbations de part le monde. C’est pourquoi, la réunion qui était prévue au Cap Vert n’a pu s’y tenir à cause de restrictions imposé par ce pays aux frontières. Il a déploré l’absence de la Guinée Bissau et du Cap Vert. M.
