The Government is finalising a draft Bill to amend legislation governing land registration and ownership.


Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, said amendments will be made to the Registration of Titles, Cadastral Mapping and Tenure Clarification (Special Provisions) Act, to reflect a more culturally relevant legislation.

One of the first pilot projects that will see workers and farm owners become co-owners of a farming enterprise as part of government’s 50/50 land policy was officially launched in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.

The pilot project‚ which was unveiled at the Westcliffe Farm near Greytown outside Pietermaritzburg‚ was to have been officially launched by President Jacob Zuma.

Arusha — Women from marginalized communities in Africa will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness about land rights this October.


Programme manager of the Tanzania Gender Network Programme (TGNP) Grace Kisetu, said : "Land and its resources account for 10 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for many African countries.
