This Act lays down rules regarding the acquisition of property rights of agricultural and forestry lands, the institution of usufruct right on such lands, the use of land, the control on restrictions relative to the acquisition of land, and rules regarding local land commissions. This Act applies to all land in the national territory.

These Regulations amend the Bermuda Immigration and Protection (Land-Holding Charges) Regulations 2007 by replacing the Schedule, which sets out the land-holding charges payable by aliens under section 96(2) of the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act 1956 in respect of (acquisition of) land-holding rights.

As far as corporations are concerned, substantially at least of the corporation shall be foreign so as to qualify as foreigner. Article 3 outline the principle of reciprocity, i.e.

The present Regulation is made under the Act respecting the acquisition of farm land by non-residents. In particular, the Regulation lays down provisions relating to the establishment of the tariff of duties, fees and costs made under the afore-mentioned Act. The text consists of 3 sections.

Immovable Property (Transfer Restriction) Fees Regulations (Cap. 95).

These Regulations determine fees for applications for sanction for the purchase of immovable property under the provisions of section 3(1)(a) of the Immovable Property (Transfer Restriction) Act and applications for sanction to lease any immovable property or any rights therein under the provisions of section 3(1)(b) of the Act. The Chief Development Officer may set such fees if not satisfied by the result of calculation of the fees as prescribed by these Regulations (based on a determined value).

This Law, consisting of five Chapters, regulates the requirements to transfer the land ownership of any immoveable property. It specifies terms and conditions to deal with land, benefits from the land, building and things constructed or situated on that land and things installed on those buildings. It establishes land property restrictions, registration, offences and penalties.

Absentee Landowners Levy (Amendment No. 2) Act 2014 (No. 6 of 2014)

This Act amends the Absentee Landowners Levy Act 1976 in Paragraph (1)(a) of section 3. That provision defines, for the purposes of the princiapal Act, an absentee, in relation to a year of levy: (a) a person, not being a company, who: (i) has been absent from Norfolk Island for more than one-half of the year of levy; and defines businesses.
