This Law regulates the modalities of keeping the register of immovable property, including the plots of land. Register of immovable property has as its purpose data collection with a view of granting access to information to the consumers. Immovable property shall be considered plot of land with the constructions located thereon and plots of land. Formation of the plots of land shall be completed after the registration thereof in the register of immovable property. The boundaries of the plots of land shall be established after cadastre measurement, mapping and placing of landmarks.

The purpose of this Law is to clarify the ownership of property and to protect property rights including rights relating to land.This Law shall apply to civil relationship arising from the ownership and utilization of property including movable and real property. Real or movable property may be owned jointly by two or more institutions or individuals and may be of two kinds, namely co-ownership by proportion and common ownership. Registration shall be granted for the establishment, modification, transfer and lapse of the right in real property by the registration department.

This Ministerial Decree regards transfer of land to the category of radioactively contaminated land, removal thereof from practical use, and also exclusion from the category of radioactively contaminated land and transfer thereof to practical use. Radioactively contaminated land shall be considered the plots of land located on the radioactively contaminated territories that cannot ensure manufacturing of agricultural commodities complying with radionuclide contents standard.

This Ministerial Decree establishes that plots of land previously used for defence and security purposes and temporarily not used for the aforesaid purposes can be allotted to legal persons and citizens on lease or free-of-charge tenancy for a fixed period for agriculture, forest management and other purposeful use. It establishes also terms and conditions of transfer of the aforesaid land and specifies that the purposeful use of the aforesaid land shall not be changed.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the right of use relating to forests and pastures. The text consists of 53 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); New regulations and regulations (II); Transfer of rights of use, prerequisites and modes of transfer (III); Safeguard of rights of use, afforestation and other use of pasture ground (IV); Raw wood compensation in case of damage (V); Provisions relating to authorities and proceedings (VI).

In order to create and maintain a sustainable and efficient agriculture, property rights, rights of use and cultivation rights in rural life and economic areas – keeping in mind ecological considerations - shall be consolidated by means of reclassification of the agriculture and forestry property, as well as by re-ordering agricultural and forestry enterprises.

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the right of use relating to forests and pastures. This Law regulates protection of cultural monuments as a part of cultural heritage. It shall be applicable to historical landscapes and individual territories such as parks and areas of historical, cultural and scientific value. The State or local governments, as well as natural persons and other legal persons may own cultural monuments in the Republic of Latvia. When recording the right of ownership in respect of immovable property that has been acknowledged as a cultural monument, an appropriate notation on limitations of rights shall be made in the Land Register.

This Law provides conditions by which compensation for restrictions on economic activities in protected territories established by the State or local governments shall be granted and the procedures for granting such compensation. Compensation granted for restrictions on economic activities in protected territories shall be divided as follows: (a) reimbursement; and (b) exchange of a land parcel situated in a protected territory to an equivalent land parcel owned by the State or local government.

This Act sets up the State Fund for Soil Improvement. It also lays down amendments to the the Act on conditions of converting agricultural and forest lands from ownership of the state to other persons and to the Agriculture Law. As from 1 January 2006, the State Fund of Soil Improvement takes over the rights and obligations pertaining to the Ministry of Agriculture in matter of soil improvement.

This Act lays down detailed provisions to implement the Act on the relations of ownership of land and other agrarian property. In particular, it defines the competences and tasks of the Czech Republic administrative authorities, with specific regard to those pertaining to the Ministry of Agriculture.
