Draft African land policy centre steering committee minutes of the meeting held on 13 November 2017

The African land policy center (ALPC) steering committee adopted the agenda of the meeting with the suggested modification. And a presentation of progress made in implementing the decisions of previous steering committee meetings. The presentation is: The joint working group on land (JWGL) planned to deliberate on the reorganization of the ALPC steering committee membership, taking into account the ALPC strategic plan, and would table it for a decision from the steering committee.

The African Land Policy Centre (ALPC) has put in place a number of mechanisms for land policy development and implementation including establishing or reinforcing existing platforms, generating knowledge and developing capacity. The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) is a mutually agreed instrument established in 2003 by the African Union in the framework of the implementation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). The objective of the APRM is to foster the adoption of policies, standards and practices that lead to political stability, high economic growth, sustainable development and accelerated regional and continental integration.
