Innovation is an inevitable way to enhance regional competitiveness, promote urbanization and achieve sustainable development. The sci-tech park is one of the main land use types in the construction of a new town and the critical space carriers of urbanization. This study focuses on the correlation between higher education institutions (HEIs) innovation and sci-tech enterprises (STEs) development, and the Hangzhou West Hi-tech Corridor as a case study.

Agricultural systems are heterogeneous across temporal and spatial scales. Although much research has investigated farm size and economic output, the synergies and trade-offs across various agricultural and socioeconomic variables are unclear.

This paper offers an approach to Yucatecan social reality in terms of entrepreneurship and the process of creating companies dedicated to the production and/or commercialization of agroecological products, considering its contribution to sustainable rural development. The key actors’ perspective towards the existence of policies that favor land sustainability, assist in the development of rural areas and their population, and support these business initiatives is also presented.

Spain is a good example that reflects this issue in the rural areas of the European Union because more than half of all municipalities in the country are at risk of extinction. The Feasibility Discussion Paper is a key output of the feasibility phase of the NUP process in Liberia. It explains the context in which the policy will operate. The paper is the result of a wide range of research and consultations on the demographic, socioeconomic, and physical environment aspects of the country. It also provides preliminary policy recommendations for further analysis in the subsequent NUP development processes.

There is a growing consensus in the international community about the impact of the transformative power of urbanization. The Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, containing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), consolidates our vision of urbanization as a tool, and an engine, for development, as reflected in SDG Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

The MLHUD Sector Strategic Plan for Statistics (SSPS) is a 5 year (2007/8 – 2011/12) plan which provides a framework for further reform and acceleration of statistical development in the sector statistical system. This Plan is intended to guide the development of an integrated, coordinated and coherent statistical system which ensures harmonized data production processes at all levels of administration. Although the Ministry is relatively new, it strives to obtain quality statistics.

The paper has two main applications: it represents a model for pricing – which might be used by investment funds, or other organizations interested in agricultural land acquisitions; the interest is in buy/sell transactions - a financial mechanism could be created to facilitate these transactions. For example, the creation of a Land Bank or to attract land banking investment funds, which would have the goal to improve the transaction system, develop financial tools necessary for increasing efficiency, improving financial structure.

The paper analyzes the provision with spatial information and the mode of its use in rural municipalities. The purpose of this study is to examine the ensurance with spatial information about natural capital within the ATU. The study examines the content and issues faced by local authorities while collecting and managing spatial information . There are given some proposals on the development of the Information System of the locality.

Land consolidation is a planned readjustment and rearrangement of land parcels and their ownership. It is usually applied to form larger and more rational land holdings. Land consolidation can be used to improve the rural infrastructure and to implement the developmental and environmental policies. The need to improve land management is obvious. Due to this, in this study special attention is paid to rural areas where land relations have profound implications for agricultural productivity, environmental sustainability and the economic and social status of rural households.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the state of the IT systems specific to different areas of activity in the Republic of Moldova, aiming at informational provision, permanent monitoring and facilitation of the decision-making processes for sustainable development. The technical, economic, legal, social, methodological aspects of the elaboration and implementation of the specific IT systems as subsystems for the recording and management of real estate are studied.
