This Order makes provision for the publication applications for planning permission made under article 9 of the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002. Any representation in respect of a planning application must be provided to the Minister within a specified period of time. The Law in article 11 (5) states that the Minister may require an applicant for planning permission to produce evidence to the Minister showing that the application has been publicized or notified in the prescribed manner. This Order provides in this respect.

This Order prescribes, in Schedule 1, proposed development requiring an environment impact statement for the purpose of Article 13(1)(a) of the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002. In Schedule 2 to this Order, information that must be included in environment impact statement is specified. A request may be made to the Minister to indicate if an environment impact statement is required in respect of a proposed development or to indicate the information to be provided in the statement.

These Regulations amend the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 so as to give effect to Directive 2003/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, amending Council Directive 96/82/EC on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances to which the principal Regulations give effect in Northern Ireland.

These Regulations define procedures for the environmental impact assessment of projects for the construction or improvement of roads. For this purpose they amend the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993. The Regulations, among other things, define for Northern Ireland public hearing requirements of Article 3 of the Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment.
