This Decree, consisting of 15 articles divided into five Chapters, prescribes the effective management and use of land for rice cultivation; support policies for rice-growing localities to protect and develop land for rice cultivation nationwide. These Regulations amend the Natural Resources Conservation (Permits and Licences) Regulations 1996 by replacing regulation 3 relating to a grant of a permit to undertake an enterprise, construction or development of a prescribed description or category and by inserting new regulations (7A-D) on the grant of a renewal of a permit. Amendment are also made to the Fist Schedule (Forms) and regulation 24 and Schedule 2 (fees).

Amends: Natural Resources Conservation (Permits and Licences) Regulations 1996. (2000)

This Order amends the Natural Resources (Prescribed Areas) (Prohibition of Categories of Enterprise, Construction and Development) Order, 1996 to provide for transitional arrangements with respect to a permit for an undertaking any category of enterprise, construction or development to which the requirement for a permit did not apply before 1 April 2015 and to modify the list of enterprise, construction or development to which the principal Order applies.

Rosetta Promontory, Egypt has been suffering from a continuous erosion problem. The dramatic retreatment was observed during the last century. It is basically due to the construction of Aswan High Dam in 1964, which reduced the flow and sediment discharges. In this paper, four Landsat images (two Thematic Mapper and two Enhanced Thematic Mapper) covering the period from 1984 to 2014 were used.

We assessed relationships between population density, poverty, ethnicity, accessibility and forest cover change during the last decade for four regions of Bolivia and the Lao PDR, combining a parcel-based with a cell-based approach.

The Asia Highway: Planned Eindu to Kawkareik Town road construction threatens villagers’ livelihoods

This News Bulletin describes the proposed construction of a portion of the Asia Highway from Eindu to Kawkareik Town, crossing 17 different villages and one town in Hpa-an, Kyonedoe and Kawkareik townships in Dooplaya and Hpa-an districts. The Burma/Myanmar government has demarcated the route and plans to construct the road with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The planning of the project has thus far been carried out with little consultation with local communities, who remain suspicious of such projects.
