The present Order is made under the Territorial Lands Act. The purpose of this Order is to withdraw from disposal certain tracts of territorial lands in order to facilitate the resolution of Aboriginal land and resource agreements. Section 2 deals with exceptions and section 4 concerns existing rights and interests. The text consists of 5 sections and 2 Schedules.

The present Order is made under the Territorial Lands Act. The purpose of this Order is to withdraw from disposal certain tracts of territorial lands in order to facilitate the conclusion of Aboriginal land agreements. Section 2 establishes that the tracts of territorial lands set out in Schedule 1, including the surface rights to the lands, and the tracts of territorial lands set out in Schedule 2, including the surface and subsurface rights to the lands, are withdrawn from disposal for a period of two years beginning on the day on which this Order is made.

Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Province of Nova Scotia.

For the purpose of the present Memorandum «patented lands» means those tracts of land in the Province in respect of which Canada accepted surrenders of their rights and interests therein from the Indians entitled to the use and occupation thereof and in respect of which grants were made by Letters Patent issued under the Gread Seal of Canada. Section 2 establishes that all grants of patented lands are hereby confirmed except insofar as such grants purport to transfer to the grantees any minerals and said minerals are hereby acknowledged to be the property of the Province.

The present Decisions implements the Ordinance on quality and harmonization of ecological measures pertaining to plots of lands of 7 October 2002. In particular, the Decision lays down provisions relating to competent authorities in the Canton responsible for the enforcement of the aforementioned Ordinance. The text consists of 17 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Minimum quality requirements (II); Minimum harmonization requirements (III); Final provisions (IV). One Annex is enclosed.

The public lands described in Schedules I and II hereto are required for wildlife research, conservation or interpretation. The Minister of the Environment is entrusted with the administration, management and control of those public lands.
