The aid granted under these Regulations aims at the management of land of broadleaved woodland compatible with the requirements of the protection of the environment the beneficiaries of aid shall conclude an agreement with the Secretary of State in which management requirements laid down in the Schedule to these Regulations are included. Such requirements regard the use of traditional materials for hedges and fences, the preservation of existing drainage systems, the abstinence from the use of pesticides, lime and inorganic fertilizers, the conservation and maintenance of all streams, lakes, ponds existing on the land, the conservation of all broadleaved trees for which the beneficiary is responsible, etc. (11 regulations and a Schedule)
