The national land centre informs the general public that requirements for property transfers have been simplified as follows: 1. notarisation of a sale contract is now optional for land under commercial or industrial use. however, sale contracts that are not notarised are required to be signed by both parties infront of the registrar or deputy registrar of land titles, during submission of the application for property transfer. Sale agreements can also be signed before the land officer of the district where the land being transacted is located. 2. tax clearance certificates shall no longer be required from those seeking to transfer property as these will be obtained directly from Rwanda revenue authority by the national land centre.
