The Minister may from time to time, subject to the laws governing the public service, by notice in the Gazette establish deeds registries and sub-deeds registries within the area of deeds registries and, subject to the provisions of this Act or any other law, determine the registration acts or other acts which are required or permitted to be performed in any such registry, or amend any such determination. 'Deeds registry' means: (a) when used in relation to immovable property, the deeds registry which serves the area in which that property is situate; (b) when used in relation to any deed or other document, any deeds registry in the Republic wherein that deed or other document is registered or registrable; (c) when used in relation to a registrar, the deeds registry of which he is in charge, Duties of the Registrar are set out in section 3.
