This Act provides with respect to definition of tenancy rights in respect to agricultural holdings. A secure tenancy is a long term heritable tenancy with security of tenure and a succession right An agricultural holding is the consolidation of agricultural land, fixed equipment, house, buildings, in any tenancy arrangement between a landlord and a tenant farmer. The Act: provides for new forms of agricultural tenancies and makes provisions in relation to these tenancies; provide for the right of certain agricultural tenants to buy land; provides for the use of certain agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes; makes special provision for certain agricultural tenancies where the tenant is a partnership; makes new provision for the resolution of disputes between landlords and tenants arising under agricultural tenancies.
