La présente loi définit le dispositif d’incitations applicable dans les zones économiques spéciales (ZES) à travers: le statut foncier des zones économiques spéciales, les règles d’attribution et de gestion des terrains compris dans leur assiette ; le régime fiscal et douanier applicable auxdites zones ; la réglementation des changes applicable aux opérations des entreprises exerçant au sein des ZES ; le régime dérogatoire aux règles communes en matière de droit du travail ; et l’accès à l’électricité.

The French colonies of Senegal and French Sudan were merged in 1959 and granted independence in 1960 as the Mali Federation. The union broke up after only a few months. Senegal joined with The Gambia to form the nominal confederation of Senegambia in 1982. The envisaged integration of the two countries was never implemented, and the union was dissolved in 1989.
