Tanzania to get 95.8bn/- from World Bank to support land ownership reform
TANZANIA is set to receive about 95.8bn/- (US$60.2 million ) from the World Bank to strengthen the business environment with particular focus on land administration reforms and improved access to financial services.
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors has approved funds in Washington last week according to a statement.

The UK government has proposed new rules regarding rights to access land in a bid to speed up the introduction of fracking.
It proposes that shale oil and gas companies are granted access to land below 300m from the surface.
It also suggests firms pay £20,000 per well to people living above the land.

MUMBAI (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Conflicts over land in India will only increase as its economy grows quickly, and the most effective way to prevent them is to ensure land laws are simpler and more transparent, a leading campaigner said.
