Land Conflict Watch – un outil créé pour documenter les conflits fonciers en Inde et mesurer leur impact – joue un rôle essentiel dans la lutte des communautés pour leurs droits sur les terres et les forêts. Grâce à un système de vérification rigoureux, la plateforme accroit l’obligation de rendre des comptes des représentants gouvernementaux et de leurs politiques en surveillant les violations des lois telles que la loi sur les droits forestiers (Forest Rights Act, FRA) – qui reconnait les droits des peuples autochtones et des communautés sur les forêts. Elle sert aussi à mesurer l’impact des conflits en termes de nombre de personnes touchées, de surface terrestre et de conséquences économiques sur les investissements.
