The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

This Law gives to the State the right to expropriate or use temporarily real estate for public purposes. The State can expropriate in the following cases: for programmes and investments foreseen in international agreements; programmes and investments with national interest, such as: transports, electric energy, telecommunication, waterworks, schools, parks, hospitals, built with State funds, protecting and preserving historical and archaeological landmarks.

Article 6 of Law No. 8505 specifies that "outside urbanized territories construction is allowed only when new facility has been included in a regional study and master plans approved by appropriate institution. Le susdit arrêté du Gouvernement flamand porte exécution des articles 11, § 1er, 13º et § 7, 33 et 33bis du décret du 23 janvier 1991 relatif à la protection de l'environnement contre la pollution due aux engrais. La partie initiale porte la définition des termes suivants "décret", "autorisation écologique", "VLAREM" (l'arrêté du Gouvernement flamand du 6 février 1991 fixant le règlement flamand relatif à l'autorisation écologique). Le chapitre II spécifie la mise à jour et publication des données par la Mestbank. Ensuite est précisé le calcul pour le teneur en éléments nutritionnels.
Highland Council (Eigg) Harbour Empowerment Order 1999 (S.S.I. No. 201).
This Order confers upon the Council the power to carry out and maintain works in the island of Eigg, Highland, and on the foreshore and bed of the sea adjacent thereto and for that purpose, compulsorily or by agreement to acquire land and rights in land. The Order also confers further powers on the Council to maintain and operate their undertaking at the harbour as a statutory harbour undertaking and defines the limits of jurisdiction of the Council.
