The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

Cette loi porte réglementation de la vaine pâture, de la garde des animaux domestiques et de la transhumance. Elle distingue 4 types de pâturages: naturels,ou parcours pastoraux, qui constituent l'ensemble des espaces naturels libres traditionnellement destinés à la pâture des animaux; jachères, ou espaces cultivables laissés en repos ou non exploités; artificiels, aménagés pour la production de fourrages ou réservés à cet effet; post-culturaux, surfaces cultivées entièrement libérées des récoltes, constituées par les restes des sous produits agricoles.

Provisions of this Ordinance amend the Principal Act by: (a) replacing the magistrate in charge with the "Upazila Nirbahi Officer" as being an office elegible to be a Collector in the sense of this Act; (b) changing the rate of interest for compensation and lease under section 8 and section 9, respectively; (c) changing the rate of fees payable to authorized persons under section 17; (d) changing the amount of penalty imposed under section 35.

In order to improve the condition of reservoirs of water the Collector, as defined in section 2, may serve a notice on the person having control over a tank which has fallen into disrepair or disuse requiring such person to carry out improvements of the tank as the Collector considers necessary (sect. 3). If improvements are not carried out to the satisfaction of the Collector he may declare the tank to be a derelict tank.

These Regulations make provision in respect of appeals to the Physical Planning Liaison Committee. Such appeals shall be made in the forms as set out in the Schedule and issued by the relevant local authority or liaison committee. The secretary of the Committee shall inform the petitioner within 60 days of a decision. Appeals may be initiated by any person aggrieved by a decision of the Director of Physical Planning or a local authority concerning any physical development plan or matters connected therewith, or any person aggrieved by a decision of a liaison committee.
