The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

In particular, the Act adds article 3 on National action programme concerning protection of water-bodies against nitrate pollution; participation of the public. Ministerial Decree № 194 amending the Ministerial Decree No. 94 on approval of the regulation on state land cadastre.
This Decree makes several changes in Articles 4 and 5 regarding electronic registration systems and repeals Article 3 and Paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Article 4. Furthermore this Decree amends Paragraph 1 of Article 4, which now reads “The reports include information on the quantity, quality and land use characteristics of lands (including irrigated land plots), as well as land ownership, use and lease."
