The present Regulation implements the Environment Quality Act (R.S.Q., c. Q-2, s. 31.0.1). In particular, the Regulation determines the conditions or prohibitions applicable to the layout, extension and operation of sites used in whole or in part for the burial of contaminated soils as well as the conditions applicable to their closure and their post-closure follow-up. The text consists of 70 sections divided into 6 chapters as follows: Scope (I); Contaminated soil burial sites (II); Security (III); Certificate of authorization (IV); Penal (V); Miscellaneous provisions (VI).
Regulation respecting the filing of information on certain drilling and fracturing work on gas or petroleum wells (RRQ, c Q-2, r 47.1).
The present Regulation is made under the Environment Quality Act (R.S.Q. c. Q. 2). Section 1 establishes that the Regulation applies to all holders of a certificate of authorization issued by the Government or by the Minister for carrying out: 1) drilling work to explore for or produce petroleum or natural gas in shale; and 2) fracturing operations intended to explore for or produce petroleum or natural gas. Furthermore, the Regulation applies in a reserved area and an agricultural zone established under the Act respecting the preservation of agricultural land and agricultural activities.
Regulation respecting contaminated soil storage and contaminated soil transfer stations (R.Q. c. Q-2, r.46).
The present Regulation enacts the Environment Quality Act. The purpose of this Regulation is to protect the environment against pollution related to the handling of contaminated soils. The text consists of 80 sections divided into 5 Parts as follows: General (I); Contaminated soil storage (II); Contaminated soil transfer stations (III); Offences (IV); Miscellaneous (V). Three Schedules are enclosed.

Expropriation Act (R.S.Q., c. E-24).
The present Act lays down provisions relating to expropriation proceedings in Québec. In particular, section 39 establishes that before serving notice of expropriation, the expropriating party shall file with the Administrative Tribunal of Québec a plan and description of the immovable or immovable real right to be expropriated signed by a land surveyor; if several immovables are to be expropriated, the expropriating party may, instead, file a general plan signed by a land surveyor. The text consists of 91 sections.
Land Protection and Rehabilitation Regulation (c. Q-2, r.37).
The present Regulation lays down provisions relating to the protection and rehabilitation of land. Section 3 establishes that the analysis of any soil sample collected in connection with a site characterization study required under a provision of Division IV.2.1 of Chapter I of the Environment Quality Act must be effected by a laboratory accredited by the Minister of the Environment.
