LandCam: Securing land and resource rights and improving governance in forest areas of Cameroon

Women's Land Rights for Inclusive Development and Growth in Africa

The overall objective is to ensure women's access to and control over their land resources across Africa. It aims to strengthen civil society 1/ to monitor actions taken by governments in 8 key countries and RECs and hold them accountable to implement relevant AU instruments 2/ to build up the evidence base and facilitate the strengthening of women's voices at community level in the face of discriminatory land tenure systems and 3/ to take panafrican level civil society leadership

Land Access for Women Program (LAW)

General

(Vietnam): The Land Access for Women (LAW) program contributes to the ICS Objective 1.3: Strengthened Respect for Fundamental Freedoms, Social Inclusion and Rule of Law by promoting greater inclusion for rural women to increase their access to land to improve their social and economic status. With FY17 funds, LAW will provide TA to support land rights awareness raising, individual legal counseling, data collection and policy advocacy. This multi-pronged approach is intended to connect all stakeholders at the local level on realizing women's land rights, including the local government, civil society organizations (CSOs), and individual men and women. The results include: increased awareness and knowledge on existing land rights under current legislation; increased women's ability to exercise their land rights; evidence generated on the gender-specific barriers to actualize land rights in rural areas; and, increased capacity of CSOs to advocate for gender equitable land reforms.

Economic development of women through innovation in the cashew nut sector in Burkina Faso

General

Self Help Africa (SHA) proposes to mobilize different designs and approaches developed and improved as a result of the many SHA experiences, particularly in West Africa. The proposed action aims to contribute to the improvement of women's living conditions in cashew nut production areas in the Cascades and Hauts Bassins regions by strengthening the economic empowerment of 2790 households operating in the cashew nut sector.
