The data included in this dataset reflects indicator 1.4.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which measures the proportion of total adult population with secure tenure rights to land, with legally recognized documentation and who perceive their rights to land as secure, by sex and by type of tenure.
This indicator is under "Goal 1: No Poverty” of the SDGs and it refers to Target 1.4, which focuses on access to economic resources and basic services, amongst
which, ownership and control over land.
>> Target 1.4.2 - By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance
This indicator is currently classified as Tier II. The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the World Bank are the main Custodian agencies for this indicator. Official data is available at the SDG Indicators Database.
