The purpose of the present Act is to ensure the orderly exploitation of minerals in Saskatchewan. The Act contains at the outside a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein, such as “Crown”, “Crown mineral”, “Crown mineral land”, “mine”, “mineral”. This Act applies: a) to all Crown minerals and all Crown mineral lands in Saskatchewan; b) to the granting and acquiring of all rights to and interests in all Crown minerals and all Crown mineral lands; and c) to all Crown dispositions issued under this Act.

This Act makes provision for the establishment of the Coast Development Authority of Kenya and defines its powers, functions and internal organization. The Act consists of 17 sections divided into 5 Parts.The Coast Development Authority is established as a body corporate and shall be composed of Government officers, the Provincial Commissioner for the Coast Province (“Area”) and representatives of the area affected by the operations of the Authority. This Legislative Decree, composed of 50 Chapters, approves the basic Order on Urban and Spatial Planning. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein, such as “ascertainable point”, “broken concession”, “broken lot”, “irregular lot”, “regular lot”, “land”, “lost corner”, “last as side line”, “proofline”. Article 2 establishes that no survey of land for the purpose of defining, locating or describing any line, boundary or corner of a parcel of land is valid unless made by a surveyor or under the personal supervision of a surveyor.

It regulates prevention and control measures against the pollution caused by certain activities, with the aim of reducing their impact over air, water, noise and soil. The list of activities is provided in the annexes, as well as the maximum emission values allowed. It requires environmental impact assessment and regular inspections over hazardous substances and illicit marine pollution. Particular attention is paid to environmental licensing.
