Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation ACP-EU

CTA

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is an ACP-EU institution working in the field of information for development. We operate under the ACP-EU Cotonou Agreement and our headquarters are in The Netherlands. When it was set up, in 1984, CTA was given the challenging task of improving the flow of information among stakeholders in agricultural and rural development in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

Our work focuses on three key areas:

Le Hub Rural

The Hub’s goal is to assist West and Central African stakeholders (States, Inter-governmental Organisations, Civil Society Organisations and Development Partners) to promote coherence in rural development programmes worldwide.

ACORD

Founded over 30 years ago, ACORD is one of the oldest and largest Pan-African organisations. We work in 17 African countries to promote social justice and lift Africans out of poverty. ACORD works with more than one million Africans and 2000 partners on the continent and worldwide.

Farm Africa

Poverty is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa, with more than 40% of the population living below the poverty line, surviving on incomes of less than $1.90 a day.

That’s where Farm Africa comes in.

Africa possesses 60% of the world's uncultivated land suitable for crop production and has huge capacity for development. Farm Africa believes that Africa has the power to feed itself.
