FAO busca promover prácticas y políticas que apoyen la integración de los sectores agrícolas y productivos (cultivos, ganadería, silvicultura y pesca), que aseguren el manejo responsable y la disponibilidad de recursos naturales a largo plazo. Para ello orienta sus esfuerzos en mejorar y estandarizar las actividades productivas, pues reconoce la necesidad de producir alimentos inocuos e implementar buenas prácticas agrícolas, como son el manejo integrado de plagas y enfermedades, manejo de cosecha y postcosecha, la innovación tecnológica y la conservación de la biodiversidad.

أولت السلطات العمومية أهمية بالغة لتوسيع رقعة المساحات المجهزة بتقنيات الري الموضعي عبر سياسة إرادية ترجمها مخطط المغرب الأخضر في البرنامج الوطني للاقتصاد في ماء الري الذي يرمي إلى تحويل ما يناهز 550 ألف هكتار من الأراضي المسقية إلى الري الموضعي في أفق .2020 ويأتي هذا الدليل الموجه أساسا إلى الفلاح للرفع من مستواه التقني في مجال استعمال المياه في الري عبر توجيهه نحو أحسن التقنيات وكذا تنبيهه حتى يتفادى بعض الأخطاء الشائعة في تصميم واستخدام وتدبير وصيانة نظام الري الموضعي.

Keeping its tradition of exploring major emerging issues, Nature & Faune has chosen to dedicate this edition to looking at the implications of rapid urbanization and its implications for urban food and nutrition security, focusing on the specific roles of sustainable management and utilization of natural resources in Africa‘s fast changing urban food and nutrition equation.

Throughout history, the forests have been valued for the multiplicity of products and benefits that they provide, both for subsistence and for trade: foods, medicines, spices, resins, gums, latexes, wildlife, fuelwood, and of course timber and other wood products. The literature is rich with examples of international trade in forest products, many dating back thousands of years. Significantly, in most cases the products sought by traders were resins, oils, spices, and much less frequently timber.

The paper briefly reviews the mandates and main activities of some major governmental and non-governmental international organizations concerned with the management of forest genetic resources, and the role that such organizations play in this field. It is noted that national forest genetic programmes will continue to constitute the building blocks of regional and global programmes, but that these can be usefully complemented by harmonization of action at international level.
