Ahmedabad : More but Different Government for “Slum Free” and Livable Cities

This paper analyzes real estate market dynamics over the past decade in the city of Ahmedabad, India, with a view to improving the living conditions of the large population living in slums. The paper combines census data, the National Sample Survey, and slum household surveys to review the demand side of the market. Satellite photography was used to estimate the production of both formal and informal housing over the past ten years. Analysis of the execution of the development plan for the Ahmedabad region and town planning schemes shows how the system of housing supply has evolved.

Le présent règlement met en execution l’article 18 de la loi d’application de la législation fédérale sur les sites contaminés du 31 janvier 2003. Notamment, le règlement régit les émoluments requis pour les prestations du service concernant la gestion du cadastre des sites pollués. Le texte comprend 14 articles répartis en 4 chapitres comme suit: Dispositions generals (Ier); Montant des emoluments; Exemption d’émoluments (III); Voies de recours (IV).

This Decision approves the master plan on the socio-economic development of Hai Phong City.The plan on the Socio-economic development shall include in particular: the development of agriculture, forestry and fishery; the renovation and dredge of channels, and the modernization of ports; the investment for improving the reserves and the quality of existing water sources; the renovation and building of water drainage systems; the consolidation of sea and river dykes; the protection of the quality of water, air and land; the inspection and supervision of waste sources; land-use planning.

In accordance with this Regulation the licensed activity is sub-divided in two groups: a) inspection of agricultural land for the purpose of the exposure of the eroded, saline, swamped soils; desertified soils, sedimentary soils, as a result of mining, reindeer pastures with the soil and vegetation damaged; b) soils contaminated by industrial waste and nuclear substances. The Regulation consists of 4 Sections. Section 1 lays down the general provisions. Section 2 establishes the modalities of issuing licences. Section 3 determines the rights and the duties of the holders of licence.
