Geoffrey Payne and Associates (GPA) was established in 1995 and has since undertaken consultancy, training and research assignments throughout the world. Clients include national governments, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), UN-HABITAT, SIDA, the World Bank, Cities Alliance and various NGOs and universities. Tradicionalmente el desarrollo rural remite a conceptos como pobreza, expulsión, insatisfacción de necesidades, marginamiento, desnutrición, inviabilidad, insostenibilidad, etc. Es preciso reconocer que esta lectura se ha convertido en un discurso reiterativo y rígido que funcionaliza al desarrollo rural a un tipo de política pública que subestima y relega la vida en el campo.

El Movimiento Regional por la Tierra y el Territorio nace en reacción a estos enfoques y prácticas, proponiendo una renovada mirada de lo rural.

Founded in 1993, Community Self-Reliance Centre (CSRC) has been at the forefront of land and agrarian rights campaign in Nepal. CSRC educates and organizes people who are deprived of their basic rights to land and empowers them to lead free, secure and dignified lives. Our programmes have focused on strengthening community organizations, developing human rights defenders, improving livelihoods and promoting land and agrarian reform on behalf of the land-poor farmers.

The goal of the WFAL 2016 had been to organise a world forum in 2016 to address the major issues linked to unequal access to land, natural resources (see The Call). Finally, the global assembly took place in Valencia, Spain (31st March, 1-2 April 2016) with more than  400 participants from 70 countries from today at the Global Forum on Access to Land and Natural Resources.

Some of East Africa's most traditional pastoralist and hunter-gatherer communities are currently at great risk of loosing their land and resources due to progressive land encroachment and lack of representation in modern Tanzania. 

​UCRT works to empower marginalised people in the rangelands of northern Tanzania to secure rights to their natural resources and land. 

UCRT helps these communities by representing their land rights, advocating on their behalf to local and national government, and  securing legal ownership of their traditional lands.
