As part of the CGIAR initiative Asian Mega-Deltas, a scoping study was completed by the end of 2022 to prioritize key delta-oriented production systems and value chains in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady Delta (Gonsalves et al. 2022). Rice, rice-fish and pulses production systems and value chains were selected based on a set of criteria including production, economic and nutritional value, climate change impact, and potential benefit of climate services with specific attention to the role of women and smallholders.

CIP, in partnership with Orgamed Farms Ltd and Stokman Rozen Kenya conducted a scoping exercise to assess
private interest in seed production, and the potato sector and partners in general. This scoping report maps
partners relevant to potato development and provides an agro-ecological and socio-economic assessment of
potential areas for developing potato sector considering differing profiles of value chains: rural, food security

Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in May 2000 by several women’s organizations in Uganda to promote and support the use of information and communication technologies as tools to share information and address issues of sustainable national development collectively. WOUGNET and the Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), have collaborated over the last decade during which time they have undertaken several partnership activities.

Village Tank Cascade Systems (VTCSs) in the Dry Zone of Sri Lanka have evolved as sustainable ecosystems through human interventions to ensure water availability and other services for people and their environs during the last few millennia. However, VTCSs are vulnerable to global environmental changes resulting in continual deterioration of ecological health and hydro-socio-ecological status, crucial for the food and livelihood security of rural farming communities in the dry zone.

Forest and landscape restoration measures could address landscape degradation, increase ecosystem services, and improve livelihoods. However, mapping potential areas for forest and landscape restoration measures and identifying enabling and constraining factors is crucial for effective implementation.

Livestock production is central to the livelihoods of a billion poor people. Transforming livestock production would have transformative effects on local economies in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Development efforts in the livestock sector have tended to be top-down without enough feedback loops to understand farmer realities and aspirations. This, despite the Farmer First movement that began in the 1990s. The Feed Assessment Tool (FEAST) was developed as a reaction to top down livestock feed development approaches.

Generative large language models (LLMs), while widely accessible and capable of simulating policy recommendations, pose challenges in the assessment of their accuracy. Users, including policy analysts and decision-makers, bear the responsibility of evaluating the outcomes from these models. A significant limitation of LLMs is their potential to overlook critical, context-specific factors. For example, in formulating food policies, it is vital to consider regional climate and environmental variables that influence water and resource availability.

Building on the successes from previous projects such as CCAFS and addressing emerging issues, the World Bank supports the CGIAR to accelerate climate research in Africa. As a mode of implementation, AICCRA deployed several CIS-CSA technologies from an initial 22 prioritized to 5 for each of the 6 value chains in Ghana. Scaling options were through demo sites at both individual farmer and community-level farm accompanied by field days.

This paper is a global literature review of anticipatory action approaches in communities hosting forcibly displaced persons. Anticipatory action, or a set of actions taken to prevent or mitigate a potential disaster before acute impacts are felt, is an essential strategy to reduce the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events. However, due to the complexity and diversity of host community environments, it has proven challenging to incorporate this approach into these contexts.

This exploratory study relied on secondary data review relating to inclusive governance in agri-food systems, as well as an analysis of Bangladesh’s contemporary agriculture, food systems, climate change, conservation, and natural resource management policies and interventions. Based on the literature review, key practices/initiatives were mapped against an analytical framework consisting of seven dimensions of inclusive governance, namely representation, participation, capacity and skills, accessibility, financial resources, knowledge system, and innovation.
