Linking climate action with sustainable development goals (SDGs) might incentivize social and political support to forest conservation. However, further examination of the conceptual entry points for linking efforts for reducing forest-based emissions with those for delivering SDGs is required. This review paper aims to contribute to fulfilling this research need. It provides insights into the links between conserving forests for climate change mitigation and peacebuilding.

The region of Karamoja, located in the northeast of Uganda, is the poorest and least developed region in the country. Historically, Karamoja has been a pastoral area; crop production, which is less reliable there, has recently emerged as an important source of household food and income in some areas. Although Karamoja bears similarities to other pastoral regions in East Africa, few of its households are self-sufficient in terms of food and most rely on barter trading for much of their staple foods.
How to feed the world without degrading land and water resources, eroding biodiversity and contributing to climate change is among the greatest challenges of our times. FAO works with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to support member countries in addressing the critical nexus between agriculture and the environment.
This booklet highlights a few success stories emanating from FAO's work with the GEF over the past two decades and presents an opportunity for member countries to further leverage from FAO's comparative advantages to create GEF-eligible development projects.Identifying protected areas most susceptible to climate change and deforestation represents critical information for determining conservation investments. Development of effective landscape interventions is required to ensure the preservation and protection of these areas essential to ecosystem service provision, provide high biodiversity value, and serve a critical habitat connectivity role.
Semi-arid Namibia is marginal for agricultural production. Low soil fertility combined with low and variable rainfall restrict the livelihoods of smallholder farmers who often struggle to produce enough food. Although historically, communities have adopted a number of coping mechanisms, climate change threatens to further reduce agricultural production. There are many additional options available to smallholder farmers to adapt to climate change, but they are not necessarily adopting these measures despite having noticed increasing temperatures and declining rainfall.
Forests and other lands are essential for achieving climate and development ambitions. If appropriately leveraged, natural climate solutions can contribute upwards of 37 percent of cost-effective CO Indigenous Peoples and local communities are key to achieving such outcomes. 2 mitigation by 2030,1 and evidence shows

FAO is stressing on the communication as an effective tool for disseminating the information for advocacy and resources mobilization in the fight against hunger and food insecurity to achieve its strategic objectives. In this regard, communication tools are edited on a regular basis by the FAO country office in Togo to ensure a better visibility of field projects at the country level. One of these tools is FAO Flash, an electronic newsletter to share information with the various partners on field activities implemented to the benefit of target groups.
