By virtue of the powers vested by Section 51 of the Agrarian Development Act No. 46 of 2000, I, M. A. S. Weerasinghe, Commissioner General of Agrarain Development determine that the area of the Authority of Agrarian Service Committee 9/4 Ambalanthota in the Ambalanthota Divisional Secretary's Division and Agrarian Service Committee 9/15 Meegahajandura in the Suriyawewa Divisional Secretary's Division in the Electorate Thissamaharama in Hambanthota District published in the Gazette (Extraordinary) No.

This Act amends the Land Reform Act that established a Land Reform Commission. Agricultural land is not to be alienated by the Commission to persons who are not citizens of Sri Lanka (sect. 6). There are amendments relating to compensation payable in respect of agricultural land vested in the Commission with tables listing the average annual yield and compensation per acre.

The Committee entitles its regional, provincial, territorial branches to carry out permanent information of the population through mass media of the availability of land suitable for organization of peasant farms, collective gardening and truck farming, individual housing and summer cottage construction and the modalities of allotment of the plots of land destined for this purpose.

The Schedule to the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (Modification of National Land Code) Order 2001 has been amended with the insertion of a new section and other minor sentence modifications.

The Committee, in connection with the issues arising in the process of the application of the Technical requirements for the plan of a plot of land validated by the Committee on Land Resources and Land Survey (ROSKOMZEM) 11 June 1993, clarifies that Technical requirements must be applied exclusively to sale and purchase by the citizens of the Russian nationals of the plots of land or their parts destined for personal subsidiary small-holding, gardening and individual housing.
