The Regulation establishes the modalities of carrying out environmental, agricultural, ecological, economic and erosion-preventive zoning of land. Zoning of land shall be carried out with the consideration of the environmental conditions, agrobiological particulars of agricultural crops, the directions of the agricultural development and ecological safety requirements by study of land and soil, analysis, systematization and generalization of data concerning the state and the particulars of land tenure in separate areas or administrative units. As a result of zoning of land the respective schemes (maps) shall be drawn representing the following particulars: 1) the structure and the classification of agricultural land; 2) the state of soil erosion and erosion processes in course; 3) soil pollution by pesticides and radioactive nuclides. The following criteria shall be set for zoning of land: 1) the degree of saturation, warmth, the extension of eroded soil; 2) the extension of the negative geological processes on the territory; 3) the intensity of erosion; 4) quantity of toxic pollutants (pesticides, radioactive nuclides, etc.) in soil and the degree of suitability of soil for growing agricultural crops.
