Lagos State Government Signs Laws to Curb Land Grabbing

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday signed the Lagos State Properties Protection Law and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law aimed at curbing the menace of land grabbing, and boosting the security of lives and property in all the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of the State respectively.

Joseph Zulu never uses the term “climate-smart agriculture,” even as he proudly points out the fertilizer trees he planted between rows of crops on his field in Zambia’s eastern province. But whether he uses the term or not, Zulu is a wonderful example of how climate-smart agriculture can be incorporated into traditional farming environments.


Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility

The Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility invites applications from indigenous peoples’ organizations and communities, as well as organizations that work with them, for grants to fund projects, innovative approaches and partnerships that promote the development of indigenous peoples and help them fulfil their aspirations.

Grants range from US$20,000 to US$50,000. Applicants must meet specific requirements and their proposals should respond to the needs of indigenous peoples in any of IFAD’s developing Member States.
