The FAO Legal Office provides in-house counsel in accordance with the Basic Texts of the Organization, gives legal advisory services to FAO members, assists in the formulation of treaties on food and agriculture, for which the Director-General acts as Depositary, publishes legal studies and maintains a database (FAOLEX) of national legislation and international agreements concerning food and agriculture (including fisheries, forestry and water).

A Decree to provide for ownership, allotment, use, registration of residential land and houses by citizens of Viet Nam and leasehold by foreigners, and in relation to this the assignment of title, the issue of certificates, settlement of disputes and other matters. The State recognises and protects the lawful title to residential houses and lawful right to the use of residential land. All residential houses and land must be registered. The lawful owners are issued the certificate of residential house title and residential land use right.

The purpose of this Act is to determine in detail the transfer of ownership of state owned assets to local government, and so to ensure the necessary assets to the functioning of the latter. Chapter I rules the transfer of assets to local governments such as flats and premises other than flats, monuments, protected natural areas, lands, the assets of public utilities, water resources (except for transboundary waters), water works and water supply services. Chapter II regards the transfer of the management right of real estates.

A Decree to provide for fees for the use of State land by private parties and land registration. A user of land that is entrusted the state to him for purpose of agricultural and forestry production, breeding of sea products, and producing salt, shall pay land using fees when using the land for other than allowed purposes. Organizations, families, individuals shall pay cadastral fees in the following cases: granting the land use right certificate; certifying the registration of the change on land; extracting the cadastral file.

El presente Decreto dispone que para que se pueda proceder a la adjudicación de terrenos desecados a campesinos o pescadores en los casos a que se refiere la Ley 160 de 1994, es preciso que la desecación se haya producido por retiro de las aguas, ocurrido por causas naturales, y que tal retiro haya sido definitivo e irreversible y que se haya delimitado la franja protectora del respectivo cuerpo de agua.

It consists of 8 chapters and 2 forms establishing the conditions to be observed in order to perform the aforementioned activity within coastal and inland river areas. It concerns licensing, beach selection, environmental impact assessment, sanctions to be paid for illegal activity, etc. The forms list the information to be given in order to obtain a licence.
