Decree No. 8803 of 2002 regulating stone quarries.

This Decree is composed of 4 Parts divided into 4 chapters and 30 articles. Part I defines stone quarries and their places. Chapters I to IV deal with the following matters: the National Council for Stone Quarries; licences; exploiter’s obligations during and after the period of exploitation transfer; and, amendment and extension of licences. Investment allowances and compensations are dealt with in Part II. Parts III and IV contain violation seizures, penalties provisions, and transitional provisions.

Act No. 93 of 2002 containing rules regarding the emission of ammoniac from animal keeping premises belonging to the livestock sector (Act Ammoniac and Livestock Farming).

The scope of this Act is to regulate the granting of permissions by livestock holders to emit ammoniac into the environment. A system of calculation of emission is introduced. Whether a permission to keep livestock or to increase an existing production and thus emit (more) ammoniac is granted or not, depends upon the location of the proposed livestock production. No permission shall be granted in ecologically fragile areas, e.g. areas that from part of a main ecosystem and are declared as such under legislation of a prior date or are declared to be such in accordance with section 2.

These Regulations amend the Landfill Tax Regulations 1996 to provide a number of changes to the scheme whereby landfill site operators are entitled to credit based on the contributions they give to approved bodies with objects concerned with the environment. Regulation 3 provides for amendments to regulation 31 which determines when a landfill site operator can claim tax credits and how he should calculate his entitlement to credit. The amendment reduces the maximum credit a landfill site operator may claim against their annual landfill tax liability.

Physical Planning Act (Cap. 193).

This Act applies to physical planning within a Physical Planning Area declared as such by a Municipal Council or Local Government Council. In declaring an area to be a Physical Planning Area, a Council may in its absolute discretion decide that one or more of the types of development specified in Schedule I shall not require permission for development, and it shall specify those types of development in the declaration. Whenever a council declares an area to be a Physical Planning Area it shall prepare a plan of that area.

This Law shall determine types and organizational forms of enterprises, rules of their foundation, registration, re-organization and liquidation, and organizational mechanism to conduct their business under conditions of transition to the market economy. Natural resources shall be possessed and used on a paid basis by enterprises pursuant to the prescribed procedures and when envisaged by Ukrainian legislative acts – on privileged terms. Owners of land and land users shall annually pay fees for land in the form of a land tax or lease payment.

This Act constitutes the legislative framework in matter of environmental protection within the State of Sabah. Part II of the Act is devoted to the setting up of the Environment Protection Council whose functions shall be to advise the State Government on matters relevant to the implementation of these provisions. On the other side, Part IV of the Act provides for the establishment of the Environment Protection Fund. Further provisions as regards public servants and administration competent in the environmental field are laid down in Part V.

Resolution of Council of Ministers No. 68/2002 approving the Regional Management Plan of the Territory of Lisbon (PROTAML).

This Council of Minister Resolution approves the Regional Management Plan of the Territory of Lisbon (PROTAML). It establishes all the sectors involved with the management of the mentioned urban area and specifies the baselines for the urban planning, as well as territorial, forestry and protected areas management, etc.

This Decree-Law amends Decree-Law No. 120/2000 on the Statutes of the Ministry of Environment and Territory Management. Amended articles establish the reorganization of the aforementioned Ministry by the fusion of four organisms in two (Institution of Environment; and Portuguese Institution of Geography) composition, duties and compentencies are specified in the text.

This Regional Legislative Decree approves the Touristic Plan of the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This Plan consists of 3 chapters 2 annexes and 4 maps of the archipelago. In view of the increasing touristic demand this Decree establishes the bases for the territorial management with touristic purposes, describes maximum authorised infrastructures to be created in order to satisfy such demand until 2012.
