The Act introduces a new system of marine management. The Act includes provision changing the system for licensing the carrying on of activities in the marine environment. It also provides for the designation of conservation zones. It changes the way marine fisheries are managed at a national and a local level and modifies the way licensing, conservation and fisheries rules are enforced. It allows for designation of an Exclusive Economic Zone for the UK, and for the creation of a Welsh Zone in the sea adjacent to Wales.

The objective of this Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, which is composed of 24 articles and two Annexes, is to reduce water pollution caused or induced by nitrates from agricultural sources and preventing further such pollution. This Regulation lays down limit intake of nitrogen from agricultural sources in the ground or floor and measures to reduce and prevent water pollution caused by nitrates from agricultural sources.

This Resolution establishes the Regulation of the Environmental Planning of Alqueva Dam (PROZEA). This Regulation consists of 5 chapters, and is a special environmental plan (PEOT), according with Decree-Law No. 380/99 regulating actions and activities for the management, use and transformation of land and water.

In this Act “land consolidation” means the complete development of all plots of agricultural land to increase production and reduce production cost by consolidating several plots of land in the same area to reorganize the lands, arrange irrigation system, construct roads or transportation routes on farms, level the ground, nourish the soil, plan the production and distribution of agricultural produce. There shall be a committee called the "Central Land Consolidation Committee " composed of ministers and Government officers.

The Decree provides the allotment of state-owned land destined to planting of perennial trees, seasonal crops and forestation, plus the water surface required for aquaculture farming to individuals, households and organizations which shall invest in the resulting production. Planning and financial evaluation of production costs shall be prepared and funds destined to support all agricultural, forestry and aquaculture activities and operations.

The Act seeks to promote a national policy in respect of natural water. It establishes the legal framework for the use, allocation and conservation of water, and for the designation of conservation areas. It further creates the Water Conservation Authority (art. 5) and the Regional Water Boards for various catchment areas (art. 19). The 10 Schedules contain classifications for minimum water quality.

These Regulations comply with Council Regulation (EC) No. 2078/92 on agricultural methods compatible with the requirements of protection of the environment and the maintenance of the countryside. They allow the Minister of Agriculture to make payments to farmers in nitrate sensitive areas. The nitrate sensitive areas are defined in maps deposited at the Ministry of areas listed in Schedule 1. Schedule 2 sets out undertakings concerning mainly the application of nitrogen fertilizer which a farmer must give for at least five years in all cases in order to be eligible for aid.
