This Law, composed of 32 articles, rules on crimes against property. In particular, it provides a classification of crimes and defines related sanctions and penalties.

The present Decree establishes the rules governing land consolidations owned by citizens and legal persons irrespective of the nature of tenure and the presence or absence of constructions thereon. The plots of land registered in the state land cadastre can be subject to consolidation or splitting up. The adjoining plots of land not exceeding the established maximum size ceiling, owned by citizens, can be consolidated.

This Decree, composed of four articles and one Annex, approves the standard rental contract model applicable to coastal land under maritime jurisdiction.

Paragraph 6 of section 4.1.1 acquires a new wording: “Land surveying projects regarding the plots of land (including those remaining unaffected) pertaining to valuable land, environmental protection land, recreational land, water resources land and forest land (of 10,0 ha and over) and cultural heritage land.” Furthermore, paragraph 6 of section 4.2.1 is reworded as follows: “Land surveying projects regarding the plots of land (including water resources land and forest land under 10, 0 ha) except for the plots of land (including those remaining unaffected) pertaining to valuable land, envir

The present Act ensures the survey of land and the approval of plans. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “application for boundary confirmation”, “cadastral parcel mapping system”, “deteriorated monument”, “former land registration district”, “land surveys directory”, “land titles registry”, “lost monument”, “parcel”, “primary survey”, “registered owner”, “re-establishment”, “Registrar of Titles”, etc. Section 4 establishes the Land Surveys Directory.

The purpose of the present Act is to ensure the registration of title to and interests in land. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “abstract directory”, “application”, “assignment”, “condominium plan”, “Controller of Surveys”, “corporation”, “Crown”, “Deputy Registrar”, “land registry”, “lease”, “mineral parcel”, “mineral title”, “registration”, etc.

The purpose of the present Act is to regulate the duties due in land transfer. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, “consideration”, “corporation not resident in Canada”; “land”, “recreational property”, “transfer”. Section 4 establishes that every transfer made after 11 May 1976 relating to land situated in Quebec requires the transferee to pay duties at the rate of 33 per cent of the value of the consideration.

The purpose of the present Act is to: a) provide certainty in ownership of interests in land; b) simplify proof of ownership of interests in land; c) facilitate the economic and efficient execution of transactions affecting interests in land; and d) provide compensation for persons who sustain loss from a failure of the land registration system.

The purpose of the present act is to ensure the orderly carrying out of professional land surveying. The Act deals with, amongst others, matters such as the continuation of the Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors, its powers, acquisition and alienation of property, election zones, holding register for inspection, right of entry on land and liability, offences, etc.

This Decree amends the Cadastre Decree and some other Decrees in relation to the entry into force of the Act No. 410 of 2003 to amend Cadastre Act and the Cadastre Organisation Act (adjustment of purposes and duties of Cadastre Service and other public registries), the revised Cadastre Act of 2005 and other legislation relative to ships and aircrafts. The amendments concern the new organization of the Cadastre.

The present Act introduces some amendments to the Land Titles Act (Chapter L-4). In particular, it repeals section 3; as well as section 5 which shall read as follows: “Deputy Registrar. The Deputy Registrar may do and perform all the duties required by this Act to be done or performed by the Registrar.” Furthermore, it adds a chapter after section 43 dealing with proof of identity; and one after section 50 concerning refusal to register.
