In the Kinangop Plateau of Kenya where small holder farmers have been settled, varied climate and soils occur and the level of land use and management is not as high as may be expected. The climate and soils were therefore studied with a view to identity the constraints they present to land use and management and how the constraints may be rectified. Low temperatures and frequent frosts are the main climate constraints while imperfect drainage, low fertility and shallow effective rooting depth are some of the soil constraints.

The purpose of this study is to analyse how to produce a balance between the design and implementation of "green" facilities. It focusses on providing insight into the conditions under which decisions take place, conditions which have to be satisfied if a balance between design and implementation is to be realised and is to influence the way we create and maintain "green" facilities. The study shows that the management of the "green" facilities is indissolubly linked with the design and the implementation.

Talent allocation models assume that entrepreneurial talent is selfish and thus allocates into unproductive or even destructive activities if these offer the highest private returns. This paper experimentally analyzes other-regarding preferences of entrepreneurial talent. We find that making a distinction between creative talent and business talent explains systematic differences in other-regarding behavior. Generally, business talent is less willing, and creative talent more willing, to forego private payoffs to avoid losses to others.

Este ensayo tiene como propósito principal dar a conocer la relevancia de la festividad del Muyu Raymi, una iniciativa de resiliencia agrícola. Para ello, en un primer momento, se hará una breve contextualización que permitirá entender la fiesta en el marco de una realidad climática, social y política particular. Luego, se describirá el Muyu Raymi enfocando tres ejes fundamentales: la agrobiodiversidad, las mujeres y la identidad. Este ensayo se nutre de conversaciones, opiniones y experiencias vividas en el marco del Muyu Raymi que se llevó acabo el 13 de agosto del 2016.
