This handbook has been prepared for the training workshop on innovative methods of amelioration and use of salt-affected soils, which takes place in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in September 2017. This workshop is conducted within the framework of the Implementation Plan of the Eurasian Soil Partnership, which is a sub-regional affiliation of the Global Soil Partnership.

En este folleto se brinda información general sobre el Proyecto de Promoción del Manejo Sostenible de la Tierra (ProTierras), cuyo objetivo es reducir la degradación de tierras mediante el desarrollo de un modelo de gestión territorial sustentable. Específicamente se explica la problemática y mecanismos de intervención que presenta una de las zonas piloto de atención del proyecto: la microregión de Valle del Mezquital, Hidalgo.

Esta guía fue realizada por solicitud del Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de Colombia, en respuesta a los crecientes problemas de degradación del suelo. Su objetivo es proporcionar buenas prácticas para la conservación, el uso sostenible y la protección de los suelos en las zonas rurales del país. Es una herramienta para orientar a los actores relacionados con el uso del suelo en el diseño e implementación de planes y prácticas de manejo sostenible.

This book is aimed at finding answers to questions about what the current situation with soil resources in the region of Central Asia and Southern Caucasus as related to food security, and how we can improve the food supply through the impact on the soil. The book consists of three parts. The first part is devoted to common issues of food security and sustainable development, and to the role of soil resources in their maintenance. The second part is about land resources, the assessment of their degradation and successful practices of their recovery.

Ce document de travail entend parcourir l’évolution historique et faire un état des lieux des concepts et des outils à la base de l’évaluation des terres et de l’aménagement du territoire pour la gestion des ressources foncières et des paysages, et proposer par là-même des recommandations pour des actions futures.

Agriculture in Eastern Europe and Central Asia is diverse, and has great potential to revitalize the economy of the countries in the region via improved productivity (efficiency) and higher total yield for food, fodder and fibre crops. Conservation agriculture can rise to the major challenge of making sustainable intensification of production systems a reality.

Настоящие издания, разработаны на основании материалов теоретических и лучших практик демонстрационных участков, созданных в рамках проекта Сельскохозяйственной и Продовольственной Организации Объединенных Наций и Глобального Экологического Фонда «Устойчивое управление горными лесными и земельными ресурсами в условиях изменения климата».

Данный документ предлагает обзор состояния и исторического развития концепций и инструментов оценки земель для управления земельными и водными ресурсами, а также содержит рекомендации на будущее.Поэтому для дальнейшего совершенствования этих инструментов было предложено проведение широкой консультации заинтересованных сторон на разных уровнях управления с тем, чтобы ознакомиться и обобщить их опыт, извлечь уроки и определить главные возможности и упущения имеющихся LRP подходов.
