This Law defines the local government structures which shall be in charge of the protection and administration of the land. The Section on Land Administration and Protection is established at the regional level, as a delegation of the Council of Ministers (art. 3). Its functions are listed in article 12. Articles 14 to 17 lay down penalties to be applied in case of violation of measures related to physical damage, reduction of fertility and degradation.

Le présent règlement concerne l’utilisation des pompes à chaleur. L’article 1er établit que leur installation est autorisée lorsque la protection de l'eau et du sol, ainsi que l'absence de nuisances, sont assurées. En outre, les équipements de pompe à chaleur ne peuvent être installés que sur le domaine privé, et avec l’autorisation spéciale préalable des pouvoirs publics. Sont assimilées aux pompes à chaleur toutes installations exploitant la chaleur du sous-sol ou des eaux. L’article 5 réglemente les installations de captage de l'eau des lacs.

Decree on soil improvement.

The present Decree lays down provisions on soil improvements. Subject to available funds, the State promotes and supports undertakings and enterprises which aim to improve soil conditions. Therefore land reclamation will be carried out with a view to fertilize unusable land as well as to reinstall destroyed land. In order to carry out soil improvements all interested parties must form a cooperative authorized by the Canton.

The present Ordinance implements the Cantonal Law on soil improvement of 4 December 1994. All soil improvements must bear carried out taking into consideration the need for a sustainable and low cost agricultural production, the conservation and promotion of landscape, a sustainable general development of nature and landscape, as well as land use planning. The text consists of 70 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Implementation (II); Unincorporated enterprises (III); Cooperatives (IV); Transitional and final provisions (V).

This Protocol has been adopted by the Contracting Parties to implement the Alpine Convention as regards soil conservation. The Protocol takes into account the functions of the Alpine soil as a natural resource, as an archive of natural history, as a location for agricultural use including pasture farming and forestry and as a source of raw materials.
