With a view to effecting the environmental protection of the bed of rivers and lakes, which dry up and become exposed as a result of a natural or man-made change in the former course of the river or surface of the lake, the statute reverses the rules governing ownership of newly-exposed river or lake beds (called riveraine and lacustrine "appurtenances"), which henceforth shall accrue to the State in lieu of the owners of riparian or coastal land.

Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 117/99 approving the Regulation for the Land Planning of Albufeira de Maranhão.

This Resolution of the Council of Ministers approves the Regulation for the Land Planning of Albufeira de Maranhão (POAM), located in the district of Avis. POAM regulates the activities to be performed within the aforementioned area, promoting irrigation and public water supply. It consists of 4 chapters divided as follows: General provisions (chap. 1); General provisions for land use and building purposes (chap. 2); Zoning (chap. 3); Other provisions (chap. 4).

The purpose of this Act is to determine in detail the transfer of ownership of state owned assets to local government, and so to ensure the necessary assets to the functioning of the latter. Chapter I rules the transfer of assets to local governments such as flats and premises other than flats, monuments, protected natural areas, lands, the assets of public utilities, water resources (except for transboundary waters), water works and water supply services. Chapter II regards the transfer of the management right of real estates.

The President decrees, in accordance with the legislation currently in force, to introduce the differentiation of the state property on natural resources by designation of federal natural resources. Federal natural resources include land, water, forest, subsoil, wildlife species and plant variety of national importance.

"Dominion water-powers" in this Act means any energy of whatever form or nature contained in or capable of being produced or generated from any flowing or falling water in such quantity as to make it of commercial value on public lands, that is the property of Canada and have been or may be placed under the control and management of the Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. The property in, and the right to the use of, all Dominion water-powers are hereby declared to be vested in the Crown, except any rights of were granted by the Crown before 1919.

The Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania have agreed as follows: 1) Land, subsoil, water and other natural resources within the boundaries of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania being public property is managed and protected as the basis of life and vital activity. 2) The parties recognize the presence on the territory of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania of natural resources pertaining to federal, republican and joint management.
