Town and Country Planning (Chaguaramas) Development Order (Cap. 35:01).

This Order, made under section 9(1) of the Town and Country Planning Act, concerns control of development in the North-western Peninsula of Trinidad as described in the Schedule to this Order. Where the Minister holds: (a) that development as indicated on the Chaguaramas Development Plan should not be undertaken in any case; or (b) that development should not be undertaken except express permission is granted by him or her in that behalf, s(he) may direct that the permission shall not apply to all or any development in any particular area specified in the direction.

El presente Decreto, que reglamenta la Ley de protección a los ocupantes de zonas clasificadas como especiales, tiene por objeto establecer el procedimiento en el caso de que se presente alguna de las situaciones de excepción que prevé el artículo 3° de la Ley, en las cuales el Ministro de Ambiente, Energía y Telecomunicaciones podrá levantar la moratoria prevista cuando se trate de terrenos comprendidos dentro del Patrimonio Natural del Estado bajo su administración.

La presente Ley regula el Derecho Real de Superficie Forestal, definido como aquel por el cual el titular del dominio de un inmueble susceptible de contener plantaciones forestales o bosques naturales constituye a favor de terceros o superficiarios un derecho de aprovechamiento o disposición sobre los bienes forestales plantados sobre la superficie de su propiedad o sobre los bienes que se encuentren en el inmueble en forma de bosque natural.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Agriculture) Regulations 2011 by, among other things: inserting a definition of "environmental impact assessment" and a new definition of "EIS" and Minister; and defining the duties of the Minister in respect of applications for authorization of development and environmental impact assessment. They also substitute Schedule 3 (specifying information to be contained in an Environmental Impact Statement) for the Schedule attached to these Regulations.

These Regulations provide compliance with the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive 85/337/EEC as amended insofar as it applies to certain categories of on-farm activities. They make provision for a statutory screening and consent system for these activities and also for environmental impact assessment for such development if it is likely to have a significant effect on the environment.

Regional Law No. 99-OZ “On some issues of land tenure and land protection”.

This Regional Law regulates some issues of land tenure and land protection and, in particular, transfer of land from one category to another, land survey practices, cadastre registration of land and mapping of boundaries of land parcels transferred from one category to another. It also regulates establishment of public servitude by the regional administration and local government with the consideration of public hearing outcome and classification of land areas as protected areas.

This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of institution (organization), conservation and protection of protected areas. Regional protected areas shall be classified as follows: (a) natural parks; (b) state nature reserves; (c) nature monuments; (d) dendrological parks and botanical gardens; (e) healthcare areas and spas; and (f) other categories established by the Regional Administration. Land of protected areas shall be classified as public or municipal land and cannot be allotted in ownership to natural and legal persons except for cases envisaged by the federal legislation.

This Regional Law regulates relations, originating in the sphere of organization, conservation and protection of protected areas with a view of conservation of unique and typical ecosystems and complexes, wild fauna and wild flora species, and control of changes in the state of biosphere. Protected areas shall be classified as follows: (a) natural parks; (b) nature monuments; (c) dendrological parks and botanical gardens; and (d) healthcare areas and spas.
