This Ordinance regulates the alienation of State land. For this purpose, it makes provision for the appointment of a Land Commissioner who shall be responsible for the general supervision and control of all Government Agents and land officers in the administration of State land and in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them by the Ordinance.Chapter IV establishes conditions and principles governing the alienation by permit or grant and the criteria for the calculation of the annual payment.

The Ordinance aims at facilitating the identification of land boundaries in Sri Lanka.

Cette loi porte les principes de constitution et de gestion du domaine des collectivités territoriales. La loi est formée par 40 articles répartis en 2 titres, à savoir: Constitution du domaine, portant la définition et la description des domaines publics et privés des collectivités (I); Gestion du domaine, portant les dispositions relatives à la gestion des domaines agricole, forestier, pastoral, piscicole, faunique, de l'habitat et minier, sur la base d'un schéma d'aménagement (II).

The Act regulates the alienation of land or other real property through voluntary sale, exchange or donation. It is divided into 8 Chapters: General provisions (I); Preparation and carrying out of alienation (II); Condition of the real property and ownership (III); Claims of the buyer in case of breach of the sale agreement by the seller (IV); Claims of the seller in case of breach of the sale agreement by the buyer (V); General conditions in case of anticipated breach of the agreement (VI); General conditions regarding compensations. Interests (VII); Entry into force.

The Act makes provision for the promotion and recognition of the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs), with a view to preserve their culture, traditions and institutions and to ensure the equal protection and non-discrimination of members.

This Act makes provision for liens and mortgages in relation to immovable property. The sections of this Act are divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Contractually agreed security on real property (II); Security on movables (liens on equipment in economic operations; liens on goods in warehouses; Sales-related liens) (III); Agreed liens on valuables (IV); Outlay liens (utlegg) (V); Security established pursuant to law (VI); Entry into force, transitional provision, modification and repeal of Acts (VII).Chapter II contains rules relative to the establishment of mortgages.

This Act provides rules relative to the identification of borders and ownership of land.The sections of this Act are divided into 5 Chapters: General provisions (I); Survey (II); Partition of land (III); Registration and related matters (IV); Miscellaneous provisions, entry into force, and amendment of other Acts (V).The municipalities are vested with the authority to register real property and to decide on matters of partition (sect. 3). Section 4 of Chapter II deals with marking of borders.

This Act provides rules relative to the expropriation of real property by the State and local authorities.The Act consists of 34 sections divided into 8 Chapters: What can be expropriated and for what purposes. Measures and interventions relating to expropriation (I); Procedure (II); Valuation of property (III); Compensation (IV); Forced expropriation (V); Miscellaneous provisions (VI); Transitional provisions (VII); Entry into force and repeal of other laws (VIII). Section 2 lists all purposes for which expropriation may take place.

This Regulation provides for compensations in kind, i.e. other land, for the alienation of agricultural land. It provides criteria for the calculation of compensation and prohibits compensation for the certain types of land. If the owner of the land does not wish a compensation in kind or compensation in kind results difficult, then the Committee established by Resolution No. 222 of 1977 may fix a compensation in cash. Transfer of real estate which is owned by Iraqi citizens who departed from Iraq shall be prevented in all cases. Private or general bail shall not be accepted for the transformation of property covered by the present Resolution. (4 sections)

This Law establishes forms of property ownership, providing for the recognition and protection of property rights. Owners (physical persons, legal entities or the State) shall have the right of possession, use and transfer. Objects of property rights covered by this Law include: land, soil, water, air space, vegetation and wildlife, buildings, installations, equipment, subjects of material and spiritual culture, intellectual property, information, money, securities and other moveable and real property. The law provides for joint ventures as well.

The Decree aims at ensuring the uniform, effective and proper use of State property.
