National Academic Research and Collaborations Information System (NARCIS) is the main Dutch national portal for those looking for information about researchers and their work. NARCIS aggregates data from around 30 institutional repositories. Besides researchers, NARCIS is also used by students, journalists and people working in educational and government institutions as well as the business sector.
NARCIS provides access to scientific information, including (open access) publications from the repositories of all the Dutch universities, KNAW, NWO and a number of research institutes, datasets from some data archives as well as descriptions of research projects, researchers and research institutes.
This means that NARCIS cannot be used as an entry point to access complete overviews of publications of researchers (yet). However, there are more institutions that make all their scientific publications accessible via NARCIS. By doing so, it will become possible to create much more complete publication lists of researchers.
In 2004, the development of NARCIS started as a cooperation project of KNAW Research Information, NWO, VSNU and METIS, as part of the development of services within the DARE programme of SURFfoundation. This project resulted in the NARCIS portal, in which the DAREnet service was incorporated in January 2007. NARCIS has been part of DANS since 2011.
DANS - Data Archiving and Networked Services - is the Netherlands Institute for permanent access to digital research resources. DANS encourages researchers to make their digital research data and related outputs Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.

Sustainable economic development is essential for hundreds of millions of poor households in rural areas. This book represents a merger of environmental science and rural development economics. It elucidates the linkage between rational choice theory and theories on land use change. It builds a quantitative framework to connect the environmental method of Material Flow Analysis to basic issues of rural development such as agricultural intensification and food security.
Land Reform In Bolivia: The Forestry Question
textabstractAbstract: In this paper we discuss forestry issues related to land reform in Bolivia. We find that although the current land reform satisfies most of the necessary conditions for adequately addressing development issues in the agrarian sector, it does not deal with many challenges related to forest management and actually contains provisions conflicting with the objectives of sustainable forest management.

Verdrogingsbestrijding in het tijdperk van het investeringsbudget landelijk gebied : tussen government en governance
Met de introductie van het Investeringsbudget Landelijk Gebied (ILG) per 1 januari 2007 is het verdrogingsbeleid veranderd. Het Rijk maakt afspraken met provincies over de verdrogingsgebieden, de verdrogingsdoelen binnen een provincie en beschikbare budgetten voor verdrogingsbestrijding binnen een provincie. Provincies maken op hun beurt afspraken met gebiedsbetrokkenen. Voor dit onderzoeksrapport is een maatlat ontwikkeld om de processen tussen Rijk en provincies en tussen provincies en gebiedsbetrokkenen te kunnen beoordelen op hun karakter van sturing.
Burgers en overheid samenwerkend voor landschap : Local Ownership in de praktijk
Een van de actieve vormen van lokale betrokkenheid bij landschap is Local Ownership, waarbij bewoners samen met overheden zeggenschap en verantwoordelijkheid willen delen bij het opzetten en uitvoeren van lokale initiatieven voor landschap. Hoe dit streven door burgers en overheden in de praktijk wordt gerealiseerd, is in dit LEI onderzoek uitgewerkt. Een analyse van de samenwerking tussen burgers en overheden vond plaats bij vijf cases. Het gaat daarbij om Buurtschap IJsselzone, Dorpsvisie Gelselaar, Groenprojecten Sevenum, Ommetje van Hoofdplaat en Naobers van Zudert
